Everything has cat hair on it!

Literally everything! Or practically everything--things that are well-sealed do not get furry. Most of our food, for example, is fine, though once prepared it will gradually start to suck hair from the air.

It's like the oxidation reactions that took place when the Earth was young: the fur in the air immediately attaches itself to nearby surfaces, keeping atmospheric fur levels relatively low. However, eventually all surfaces will be fully covered, allowing fur to accumulate in the air, and paving the way for new organisms whose metabolisms rely on fur instead of oxygen.

Cat owners: braving the new frontier of fur-breathing life.
