I've noticed some interesting trends about myself over the past couple of weeks.
No, that's a lie; I was just trying to set myself up to say: I have been eating obscene amounts of Powerberries. This can be attributed in large part to The Great Powerberry Famine of 2013, when the company that supplied Powerberries to Trader Joe's ceased production. The reasons for this are unknown. The agony lasted several months for consumers of these cheap balls of congealed juice covered with darkish chocolate, only ending when a new company stepped up to deliver incrementally inferior berries.
For myself, and undoubtedly some others, the restocking of Powerberries led to a buying spree, quickly followed by a frenzied eating spree. It has been weeks now, and I've consumed no fewer than six bags of berries. My body has not yet rebelled, but it must only be a matter of time.
However, with the hope that I am wrong, I will continue in my attempts to slake my desperate and creepy craving. Perhaps when the dust has settled and I accept that the Powerberries aren't going away I might ease up. We'll see what time brings.
