Not any time to blog now, but I burst out in horrified laughter when I watched a video on PBS. To see what I'm talking about, go to http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/commandingheights/lo/story/ch_menu.html and scroll down to Chapter 12: The Specter of Stagflation. Open the video by some means or another, and if you want you can watch the whole thing. If you don't really care about stagflation, though, you can fast-forward to about 5/6 of the way through the movie. Immediately before the horrorifying comedy, you'll hear something about ranchers stopping sending cattle to market. And then boom.
