Hello chillens. Well, today was interesting.

Well, sort of interesting, at least. It was the first day of classes, so that's always fun. It's not fun for you guys to read, but cheer up; one day soon I just might write something more entertaining. Sadly, Tuesday is the day I have decided to assign the moniker "Day of Hell" to. Fortunately, the Tuesday of potential doom was wasted on syllabi as opposed to actual work. Let me begin by giving a rundown of my classes:

Introduction to International Affairs (IAFF 005): Crap.
Introduction to European History 1715-present (HIST 040): Decent.
Honors Proseminar (HONR 016:12): Three-quarters of the way decent.
Beginners' French (FREN 002:14): Crap.

Basketball Officiating is the single one of my classes that is not on this list--I will update on Friday when I have my first session. But I have to say that it's scary. My four real classes all meet on Tuesday (well, the history thing is a discussion on Tuesday, but still). It's like the day of death. Death I say. It doesn't help that two of those classes have received the crap rating. They may both be better than I have said, but IAFF is looking like it's going to be way too much work for way too little reward and in French, my professor has a shitty accent. I mean really really shitty. It surprised me immensely when she told us that this was her fourth semester teaching this stuff (well, it surprised me when I was able to decipher her butchered words). The worst thing is how she pronounces "D'accord." It's way closer to dah-kohr than it is to dah-kehr, lady! And it doesn't help when you add your American fucking accent!

Man. I just realized that I said "lady" instead of "bitch" right there. I would like to point that out right now to those who have criticized me for being a cursemonger. You can point right back and say that I used "fucking" in that very sentence, but you have to admit that "lady" was completely surprising and uncalled for.

As far as the classes, however: I definitely recall how I said things like "Islam is going to be really cool!" when it instead ended up being the least favorite of all of my classes as well as the one in which I obtained the lowest grade. (B? They gave me a B?!)

Let's just hope they work out such that the crap accomplishes a staggering metamorphosis of some sort. I think I'd like that.

In other news, I tried out for a play today, breaking my two and one half year spell of no auditions. There were only twenty-five or so kids there, but there were only four parts in the whole deal. We'll see if I make callbacks I'm guessing. Really, I don't have the time to do this sort of thing, but even still it would be quite fun, yes?

Plus I'm a much better actor now than I was two and one half years ago. That doesn't necessarily mean I'm good, but it does mean I've broken out of being piss-poor. It's a start, says I.

And that's all I've got for now. I apologize, kiddies. Maybe one day I'll slide back into a nice little groove and dance madly as I blog--and damn will I blog beautifully that day.

Hasta la byebye, little goats; remember to call the females "females" even though they don't like it. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, I always say.
