Hasta la Byebye

Om nom nom

You know what kicks incredible amounts of ass? Many things, really. But the first one I will talk about is The Darkness. Yes, I know you all know that I love them, but let me tell you... they make me want to rock so bloody hard! Woo! I've taken to imagining myself as a goat who is playing these kickass songs with general badassery hovering around me. (No. I'm not Justin Hawkins. He would actually be some sort of feline.) I think I'm going to have to break up The New Distraction and create a new band called The Brightness. And we will all wear goat suits (because goats rock).

::Points up at the drivel above:: See that? That's how good The Darkness is. Enough to turn me, normally a brilliant and non-gelatinous mass, into a blubbering blob of jelly.

Other things kick ass, however. Some of those things would be my AP scores (information on them was relayed to me through email just about twelve hours ago). I'm an intellectually vain prick who loves to show off, I will admit it. Now that that's done... all fives biatch! Well... they're all fives if my Be read them right. It's possible that English Lit was a four, but otherwise... ::Lights fireworks:: happy motherfuckin' 4th of July two weeks late, folks!

There are actually more reasons than just to show off that I wanted to say that, though. You see, after I posted my first blog entry of the summer, something made me go back and read the archives of this puppy all the way back until November. Believe it or not, I actually enjoyed doing it and I realized that I'd sort of forgotten some of the things that I'd written here. Now I will never forget that I kicked the AP Exams' collective ass, but I want to see this one day. I want to remember it and revel in it and I want to get used to posting everything. I realized that it would not only be my window to the past, but also my friends' window to me. After all, once I get back, it's pretty much t-minus one month before we separate for at least nine months. So this is for all you fuckers in Katy too, even if you don't read it. (And for any Ansteorrans that have crawled over here, this is for you too. Read, bitch... and thanks for coming.)

But there are still more things that kick ass. Another thing would be--please don't cry Ansteorra--that I have resumed membership in the old Star Trek roleplaying game called A Call to Duty that I did for years before abruptly quitting over a year and a half ago. Oddly enough, the character I made has a very strong resemblence to an anthropomorphic feline--mostly because his bloodline is half Caitian (aka anthropomorphic feline). I'm totally stoked about the idea of developing him (unlike what I had done with my previous characters on ACTD) and making him into yet another lovely little extension of myself--made easier by the fact that his dad is Turkish and that I have taken the easy road and made him essentially a modified version of me (something I've done with pretty much every character I've ever played... need to work on that).

One day (maybe tomorrow or something--who knows?) I will let the twelve fellows on the crew of the Hayden--for that is the name of my ship--have the link to this blog. The possibilities of doubling, tripling, or even quadrupling my audience are quite exciting, I must say. And so, considering that they may see this, I wave to all of them! Hello Haydenites!

But you know what else kicks ass? I will be home quite soon! (Arriving in Houston in about 28 hours.)

I love Turkiye; love it to death. But I have to say that after five weeks away from home, it will certainly be good to be back. Especially since for the last two weeks of those five, I have been sentenced to live without my dad, my only ally against the females as they ruthless rape, pillage, and burn our cash. (Yes, I am aware that you can neither rape nor pillage cash to any real extent, but it sounds good, yes?) I have to admit that my Didem Abla's (Abla is a word you use for females that you know that are relatively close to your age--she's about 30 or 35 or 40 I believe; first cousin once removed with whom we're staying in Istanbul) aid in purchasing a beautiful rug for my dorm was very very cool, but I wasn't so happy when she and the other females got together to purchase lots of other stuff while we were at the Grand Bazaar (where we also met a fellow who met--and sold stuff to--President George W Bush while he was in the city recently for the NATO Conference).

More on the rug though... it's really hot. You'll have to see it when I bring it to Katy and photograph it; but it isn't just the look that's great, the feel of it under your feet is quite superb. Along with this, the wool fibers are woven very ridiculously finely and even interspersed with silk. The weaving is the sort that will only grow stronger with use (Turkish rugs are the best for this reason--if you get a good one, the design is such that even vacuuming does not hurt it, unlike similar quality Afghan, Persian, or Chinese carpets). All of this for the low low price of $300 (haggled down with lots of help from my Didem Abla from $400). I'm very very pleased.

Anyways, I think I'll keep it at that for now. Hasta la Byebye will be back in full force, as I said earlier, quite soon! Remember to kiss all lizards that you see and urinate on at least four buildings! Hasta la byebye!
