Man... crrrrazy stuff going on. I just purchased a ticket to see The Strokes for $43.52 on ticketmaster.com. I sort of took time to gape at the number even though I knew it was going to be something very near that before I went on to order, but I guess seeing that there are 52 cents tacked on seems to somehow make it more expensive. However, this concert came highly recommended by Eric, Travis, & Co.--the same people who brought me to Radiohead for even MORE money--I think I can trust that I will quite enjoy this concert... especially if I get a chance to listen to some of their music beforehand... gonna have to talk to Eric about yoinking a CD for a while.

Oh! Happy Turkish Independence Day everyone! Long live the memory of Kemal Atatürk! I went to school today decked out in my uncle's old trenchcoat and waving a little Turkish flag with pride, wishing everyone a happy Independence Day and taking care to write up on the board (In Eco, Calculus, Multimedia, and Decathlon) for all the world to see. I carried around my little flag towards the end of the day instead of merely sticking it in my backpack like I did in the morning, and it was lots of fun... especially since I got to learn how many people couldn't tell the difference between a Turkish flag and a Soviet flag... well, that was actually more depressing than funny. I don't really mind being asked if I'm a communist, but if that question is provoked by carrying a red flag with a crescent and star, then I must goif in sadness.

As a result of this lack of knowledge about the Turkish flag, I have decided to begin a program designed to help educate today's youth about Turkey. I call it operation Educating America's Teenagers About Turkey's Just and Outstanding Ethical System (EATATJOES). The operation will consist of educating kids about Turkey's history and government and how they got to where they are today and how Turkey's secularism has truly made it a unique and rockin' nation... it will also include a comprehensive flag-identification unit where people will have to pick out Turkey's flag from among those of China, the USSR, Pakistan, Algeria, Singapore, Tunisia, and of course Israel (all of these countries except the first two have similar flags to Turkey's, and the first two were what prompted so much confusion about communism and stuff... oh, and Israel's just thrown in there to confuse the kids who weren't paying attention in class so they would think the one that doesn't look anything like the others is right... suckers). If anyone wishes to help set up project EATATJOES, then please scurry over to the site and volunteer!

Anyways, I'm gonna run now. Maybe I'll post more later... maybe. Until then, hasta la byebye.
